Using HomyIQ Offline

Goal:

Keep using your shopping list when your device loses internet, and have your changes sync automatically when you reconnect.

You will need:

  • A phone or tablet with HomyIQ installed
  • The app has been opened at least once on your device

Follow these steps:

  1. 1When your device loses connection, you can still add items, check them off, and reorder your shopping list. All your actions are saved locally on your phone — nothing is lost.
  2. 2As soon as your device gets back online, HomyIQ automatically plays back all your shopping list changes in the exact order you made them. If you see an orange 'Offline' banner with a count of pending changes, tap the 'Retry' button to sync them now.
  3. 3Once reconnected, everyone in your household will see your shopping list updates instantly on their devices.
  4. 4If you try to access other pages like Calendar or Tasks while offline, you will see a message saying you're offline. Reconnect to the internet to use the full app.
What success looks like:

You can add and check off items on shopping lists even without internet, and all changes sync to the family when you reconnect.

What to try next:

  • Try adding items to a shopping list and then turning off your device's WiFi to see the offline banner appear
  • Go to the More page and turn on notifications so you get updates when other family members add items to shared lists
