Terms of Service

These terms cover how you use HomyIQ and what you can expect from us. We’ve kept them as plain as we can — if anything’s unclear, just ask.

Last updated 24 May 2026

The short version

  • Be kind to your household, don’t break the law, and don’t try to break HomyIQ.
  • Your household’s content stays yours — we just help you organize it.
  • You can cancel anytime, and you can take your data with you when you go.

Welcome

HomyIQ is a calm command center for your household — shared tasks, reminders, calendars, lists, and a few smart helpers along the way. By creating an account or using HomyIQ, you agree to these Terms of Service.

These terms form an agreement between you and HomyIQ (the service, operated by its owner). If you’re using HomyIQ on behalf of a household or family, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for everyone you invite.

Your account

  • Eligibilityyou must be at least 13 years old to create an account (or the minimum age in your country, whichever is higher). HomyIQ is built for adults managing a household.
  • Accurate informationuse a real email address you control, so we can reach you for security notices and account recovery.
  • Keep it secureyou’re responsible for what happens under your account. Choose a strong password, don’t share it, and let us know right away if you think someone else has access.
  • One account per personcreate your own account rather than sharing one — that way your reminders, notifications, and preferences stay yours.

Households & shared content

The whole point of HomyIQ is shared planning. When you create or join a household, everyone in it can see and edit the household’s shared content — tasks, lists, calendars, notes, reminders, and uploaded documents.

  • Inviting membersonly invite people you actually want to share with. Members you add can read and change shared household content.
  • Removing membershousehold owners can remove members at any time. Once removed, they lose access to the household’s shared content immediately.
  • Leaving a householdyou can leave a household from settings. Your personal account and history stay yours; the household’s shared content stays with the remaining members.
  • Last member outif you’re the last member of a household and you delete your account, the household and its content are deleted with it.

Subscriptions, billing & refunds

HomyIQ offers a free tier plus optional paid plans for households that want extra capacity, premium features, or AI credits. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe.

  • Billing cyclepaid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on what you chose) until you cancel.
  • Cancellationyou can cancel anytime from settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for; you won’t be charged again.
  • Refundswe don’t generally refund partial billing periods, but if something has gone wrong — a charge you didn’t expect, a feature that didn’t work as described — email us and we’ll make it right.
  • Price changesif we change the price of a plan you’re subscribed to, we’ll tell you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. You can cancel before then if you’d rather not continue.
  • Taxesprices shown may exclude applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST/HST. Where required by law, Stripe collects and remits these on our behalf and they appear on your receipt.
  • AI credits & top-upssome features use metered AI credits. Top-up packs are one-time purchases — you keep what you’ve bought even if you cancel the subscription, but credits don’t expire to cash refunds.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use HomyIQ to do things that are illegal, harmful, or that would mess with the service for other households. In particular, don’t:

  • Break the lawstore, share, or distribute illegal content, or use HomyIQ to facilitate illegal activity.
  • Harm othersharass, threaten, impersonate, or post content meant to hurt someone — including other members of your household.
  • Scrape or abuse the serviceno automated scraping, scraping our APIs without permission, reselling access, or attempting to bypass rate limits or quotas.
  • Reverse-engineerno probing for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure, no decompiling, no extracting our source code or models.
  • Upload malwareno viruses, worms, ransomware, or anything else that could harm devices belonging to us or other users.

Third-party services

HomyIQ works with trusted third parties (listed in our Privacy Policy) and lets you connect optional integrations — for example, Google Calendar, Drive, Tasks, or Photos.

  • Optional integrationsyou choose whether to connect them. We only request the permissions needed for the features you’ve enabled, and you can disconnect any integration at any time.
  • Third-party datadata you bring in from an integration (calendar events, files, photos, tasks) belongs to you and is governed by the third party’s terms as well as ours.
  • Third-party availabilityif a third-party service is down, slow, or changes its API, the connected features in HomyIQ may not work as expected until it’s resolved.

Your content & our license

Your household’s content — the tasks, notes, lists, calendars, reminders, documents, and anything else you put into HomyIQ — belongs to you and your household.

To run the service, we need a narrow, practical license: the right to store, display, transmit, and process your content so we can show it to you and your household members across your devices, run the features you’ve enabled, back it up, and keep it secure. This license ends when you delete the content or your account (subject to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy).

We do not use your household’s content to train AI models, sell it to anyone, or use it for advertising.

Service availability

We work hard to keep HomyIQ reliable, but no online service is perfect. We may take parts of the service offline for maintenance, upgrades, or to fix problems. We may also add, change, or remove features over time as the product evolves — we’ll try to give you reasonable notice for changes that materially affect you.

Termination

  • By youyou can stop using HomyIQ and delete your account at any time from settings.
  • By uswe may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if your account is required to be closed by law, or if continuing to provide the service to you would harm us or other users.
  • What happens to your datasee the data retention section of our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information after an account closes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomyIQ and its operators won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of the service.

Where liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, our total liability to you for any claim relating to these terms or the service is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 CAD — whichever is greater.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know inside the app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use of HomyIQ after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You and HomyIQ agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta for any dispute relating to these terms or the service, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
